Oppo 203 con audiolab mdac

Hi everyone I have an oppo 203 with vanity and aes/ebu spdif outputs selectable via switch.
I have problems with small interruptions with the dac audiolab mdac first version.
I tried the 4 combinations of switch 6 and 7 also if I disable the 24 bits the dac still signals the 24 bits even with switch 1 at 88khz off the dac hooks me to 96khz.
Does anyone know how to set up the switch?
with the gustard and m2tech dacs it gives no problem with switch 1 and 2 set to on and the rest to off

I have replied to you via PM. The only thing I can think about is the DPLL bandwidth setting on the MDAC. Please try to modify it and see if it helps.

On another note, what an interesting modification of the player! Would you mind sharing more photos of the modified player? It looks like you even have a custom made back panel made with the XLR connectors! It would be great to see that in detail please.

Hi Pavel, I have read and followed the instructions in the forum that you have indicated to me and I have solved the interruptions by selecting the jitters on high and changing the coaxial input.
for analog multi-channel use (film) with the krell hts 4.0 preamp, which filter do you recommend setting?
 Sharp Roll-off: Sharp filter for 88.2kHz, cutoff frequency
approx. 20kHz.
 Short-Delay Sharp (default): Slow filter for 88.kHz, cut-off
frequency approx. 25kHz.
 Slow Roll-off: Sharp filter for 176.4kHz, cutoff frequency
approx. 44kHz.
 Short-Delay Slow: Slow filter for 176.4kHz cutoff frequency
approx. 55kHz.

good to hear that you were able to resolve the dropouts! Also kudos to Audiolab for making the DPLL setting available to the user.
As for the filters, it is hard to give a general recommendation, but I would start from the sharp 88.2kHz filter and listen if there is any change going to slow 88.2kHz. For second listening test I would start again from sharp 88.2kHz and switch to 176.4kHz sharp filter. This should give some indication how sensitive the system is to the amount of residual DSD noise and how the filter shape potentially influence the soundstage. If the differences are negligible, then I would settle for 176.4kHz sharp just for the benefit of increased bandwidth of pure DSD recordings. Feel free to experiment a little!

Your OPPO mod is probably the most complex one I have ever seen, great job!

hi Pavel one piece of information I insert the distances and the levels of the speakers in the oppo or in the pre hts?

Since it is relatively simple operation, I would say it doesn't matter where the speaker management is done. But if your pre HTS does some more sophisticated processing, it might be a better idea to leave everything to the processor and leave the oppo just as a digital transport for bit accurate audio. What is your theatre processor that you are using?

No worries, I would say it won't make a huge difference, but I would probably use the OPPO for the job. As long as you are not going to change the speaker arrangement too often for the convenience factor to count in, the OPPO is probably a good place to do the basic speaker management processing.
