Hi Bob, Karl, I promise the Center and LFE will be swapped in the next firmware release or the channel assignment of the Center/LFE stereo pair will be user selectable for people who have their system wired with the original mapping. The compressed multichannel formats is a different story. Most digital sources/streamers can decode majority of the multichannel formats with the exception ofby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Steve, Thanks for checking in. We have just received the PCB samples. They seem to be well assembled and shortly we will start the USB audio software works. I will share some photos of the actual board later. Best Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Seattle Sounders, The primary pinout was designed to be compatible with PS Audio, but we will try to make it software configurable. Best Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
HI Bob, Many thanks for your post here. I will try to address your comments one by one. I notice that the audio meters are white on black. This is really strange, there has never been any other hardware version with white meters. Could you maybe try to look straight from the front just in case the colour presence isn't altered by too wide viewing angle? I notice that the AES2 outputby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Fred, The main idea behind this USB board is that one can use a PC for multichannel room processing, etc. So, this card, when connected to a PC, will look like a multichannel audio device and then you can use the audio in the PC for whatever you wish. Hope it answered your question. Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
Hi all, The prototype is still being in the manufacturing process due to component lead times slightly longer than expected. It will be probably another one or two weeks. Will keep you informed about progress. Please stgay tuned! Best Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
Hi all, There will be a new output board available with I2S interface via HDMI connectors. There are 4 HDMI connectors in total to allow for 8-channel I2S output. The HDMI connector follows the PS Audio/Sonore pinout, which is the most common one. The board is ready for production and it should be available by mid November. If you are interested, please message us to reserve a board from the firby AP - VanityPRO
Hello, a quick update! We have finished the hardware design with a few changes from the initial version. Now the board has two extra BNC/RCA connections, one SPDIF output and one SPDIF input. The output is connected to the USB interface for audio monitoring or synchronization of other external devices. The input then can be used as an alternative signal source and switched between HDMI/ARC/SPDIFby AP - VanityPRO
Hi there, We have progressed a little to the point of having firm specs available for the USB board and also I2S board. The former one has also two BNCs, one input and one output. The output is simply a stereo (front) SPDIF output from the USB interface to make it more flexible either for audio monitoring or synchronization of another device. The input is a general purpose digital audio inputby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Karl, Many thanks for your feedback. I mam glad to hear the VanityPRO delivers on the audio quality front! Best Regards, Pavel Karl W. Hi Karl, Thank you for your post. I am sure many VanityPRO users with a PC will find it useful. Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
Hi folks, Based on requests from the users, we have decided to design an output card with USB Audio Device capable of 8-channel operation. On top of that, there is a bank of asynchronous resamplers which will allow the USB Audio to run at fixed sampling rate set from the host PC. This will address the little issue of the USB Audio class, where the device cannot tell the host which sampling rateby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Esosa, I have checked the DSD 4.0 downmix algorithm and it is indeed messed up a little. It is now the surround channels instead of LFE and Center that get mixed with the front channels, while the FLE and Center are thrown away. Thanks for flagging this up, it will get fixed in the next firmware version. Best Regards, Pavel Ozymandias Wrote: --------------------------------------------by AP - VanityPRO

Thanks Karl! Please feel free to share the details of the issue you had for others in case they experience the same issue. Best Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
Hi feurkils, There is always hope, but I would not rely on the expectation that eARC capable TV sets automatically support 192kHz sampling rate. The VanityPRO has ARC (not eARC). Therefore you are limited to stereo anyway. If it is not an issue, I would love the results of your TV capabilities research. Maybe if they let you connect the VanityPRO you would get instant confirmation what the suppoby AP - VanityPRO
Hi feurkils, Thank you! Yes, multichannel I2S via 4xHDMI with PS-Audio pinout is something we have been considering, only if there were more people using I2S! :-) The good thing about the VanityPRO is that there are virtually endless possibilities how to get the audio out using various output boards. We found a way to even add a standard digital audio input (SPDIF/AES) to make the VanityPRO a dby AP - VanityPRO
Hi feurkils. Well, it is important to say what the sample rate conversion would be used for. There are different reasons for using sample rate conversion. - What can be potentially implemented in the VanityPRO is a synchronous conversion for increasing or decreasing the sample rate within the sample rate base For example 192k->96k (both based on 48k), 176.4k->88.2k (both based on 44.1k),by AP - VanityPRO
Hi feurkils, Thank you for your suggestion. One of the main differences between ARC and eARC is that the later supports multi-channel and higher sampling rates. But, that all depends on the TV set and I would be very surprised if the audio subsystem support of a TV would be as rich as of a decent Bly-ray player for example. In theory your plan to make the TV your main HDMI multiplexer should worby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Esosa, Thanks a lot for your feedback! I am glad to hear that you are happy with the product. The dropouts should not happen any more with the new firmware even without adjusting the DPLL setting of the ESS DAC in the OKTO, so thanks for confirming that. We will have a look into the 4.0 downmix function. Should you have more feedback or comments, don't hesitate to share! Thanks again!by AP - VanityPRO
Hi Martin, Sorry, I overlooked your post! I am afraid we don't have any digital audio module that you could embed into the Parasound decoder at the moment. Long time ago we had something quite universal, but since the range of modules for the OPPO players there hasn't been any reason to keep it alive. May I ask what use it would be for the stand-alone decoder if most of the players/by AP - News & Announcements
Hi all, We have just released a new firmware for the VanityPRO. Please find the firmware loader tool with the firmware itself and release notes in this location: https://audiopraise.com/projects/internal/vanitypro/resources/ Comments are welcome here! Best Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Ecess, I have replied to your PM. Regards, Pavelby AP - News & Announcements
Hi Ecess, I have replied to your PM. Once we identify the issue we can post an update here. Regards, Pavelby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Ozymandias, All units sold after the firmware update release will naturally have the latest version installed. We have the release candidate in field with a few testers and so far no issues found. If you are waiting with your purchase for the new firmware release, please get in touch with JVB so you can get a notification as soon as the units with the new fw are ready. Hi MultiChMaven, Well, for the next generation of the product, why not . For now you can simply add a decent HDMI switch and it would do the job just fine. Hi Martin, Thank you for your question. To be honest, although it is something technically viable, I would not expect a huge market for such solution/module. It is also something that is the opposite direction of what we intended with the VanityPRO. The previous generations of the Vanity modules were designed to work with OPPO players, which wasn't an universal solution and we all know whaby AP - VanityPRO
Hi Esosa, Thank you for your suggestions. Some basic multichannel processing should be possible to do. Some additional downmix scenarios would be just natural extension of what is already there for DSD4.0. For the rest, some development effort would be needed. Also we would like to see if it would make sense to implement such basic multichannel processing and speaker management in comparison toby AP - VanityPRO
