Hello Robert, Thank you for your question. The HDCD decoding (must be enabled in the player's menu, section Audio Format Setup) is handled by the Oppo and the Vanity93 just outputs decoded data that were originally sent to the player's DAC. With the Vanity93 module you can enjoy all digital formats that the Oppo is capable of. The Vanity93 board doesn't need to do any PCM (all meby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)
Hello, Thanks for your post. The signal processing features are related exclusively to DSD playback (DSD->PCM conversion). PCM signals are just passed through. The re-clocking function is then applied on all digital outputs regardless of their content. Please have a look into the settings manual for details. Unfortunately I2S or TDM is not accessible on the board. S/PDIF signals are encoby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)
Hello all, As you may already know, the latest BDP-93 firmware disables the capability to play ISO files. Seeing that various features (although officially not documented or announced) can not only be added but also removed (for whatever reasons) from one firmware version to another, I'd kindly suggest to be careful with the automatic firmware updates. It is very unlikely that the digitalby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)

Hi, The "only" advantage of a digital connection is that you are not left with the player's internal D/A conversion and you can hook up a high quality standalone DAC/digital amp/room processor to which any player or AVR is sonicaly not even close. The Vanity93 module seem to be a perfect companion to all-digital amps from Tact/Lyngdorf as their volume control can be synchronizedby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)

Hello Fitzcaraldo215, Thank you for your question. The thing is that the most of a hi-end and audiophile equipment (DACs, digital amps, room processor, etc.) doesn't feature a HDMI connection. This is probably why a comparison to the HDMI playback is not included in the review. Furthermore there are not many receivers capable of "raw DSD over HDMI" anyway, usually a poorly conby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)
Hello Ackcheng, In S/PDIF or AES streams, the left channel is always transmitted first. Therefore I suggest the correct sequence is following: FL,FR,SL,SR,C,SW,SBL,SBR Whenever one is not sure with the channel mapping, a test tone (individual for each channel) can be enabled in the player's menu. I have found this tool to be very handy. Best Regards, Pavelby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)

Hello Andi, we have slightly updated the installation procedure. Now it is not necessary to remove the back panel, making the installation even easier. I guess the warranty depends only on presence of any security/warranty seal on the back side of the player. Regards, Pavelby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)
Hello Ackcheng, Correct, audio data is clocked from the FIFO buffer by a tunable on-board oscillator in order to strip data from the dirty clock in the player. The oscillator is custom made voltage controlled low jitter type - VCXO. It has pull range +-150ppm and adjustments are controlled by an adaptive algorithm that monitors the utilization of the FIFO and sets the on-board oscillator accorby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)

Hello Andi, I have quoted your questions to the new topic for better visibility. The Vanity93 module is easy to install, it is designed to directly replace player's DAC board with analog outputs. No soldering or extra wiring is necessary, just a screwdriver is needed. A document with installation instructions will appear on our web very soon. Hello Andi, Allow me to answer the technical questions. The compete functionality of the player in term of speaker settings is preserved even with the Vanity93 installed. The module just replaces the analog outputs board and everything you can get from analog outputs you also get from digital outputs of the Vanity93. The S/PDIF standard says that 10 meters is the maximum transmission distanceby AP - Vanity93HD & Lite (discontinued)
