Vanity103 Lite is ready

Hi all,
The new module for Oppo BDP-103 - Vanity103 Lite is ready for production and we are accepting pre-orders. The expected manufacturing lead time is 2-3 weeks. There is a small number of units available immediately.

The Vanity103 is functionally identical to its predecessor Vanity93 Lite and has the same specifications. Below you can see a photo of the prototype. Should you have any question, don't hesitate to ask here.

Regards,
Pavel

Hi Pavel, when do you expect to have the full version 103 ready? Will this have any improvements over the Vanity93 board, or is it the same technology, but working with the 103 player instead of the 93?

Hi guys,
There will be a more advanced version equivalent to Vanity93 with the same technology. The only option we are considering is the DoP output for DSD signals, but the rest of features will remain the same. I will update the forum when the new board is ready.

Pavel

Will the board go into a 105 too, or is it 103 specific?

Hi Brucemck2,
The board is 103 specific. The original analog output board that Vanity module replaces is completely different in size for 103 and 105. On the other hand, you probably would not buy 105 just to throw its expensive analog board away anyway, would you? smiling smiley

Pavel

Silly question from new user:

I have installed Vanity Lite in my Oppo 103 and want to now connect it to my Meridian G68. My problem is that the G68 has single inputs for L+R (combined digital) for main, centr and sub, surounds etc whereas Vanity seems to provide separate L and R channels. My question is therefore how do I connect the cables?

Use the bottom row of RCA digital outputs. The "FR" output contains both the left and right channels. Refer to the "Settings Guide" at:

Many thanks! Problem solved.

Suggestion: Perhaps they should include a copy of the Settings Guide with the card when they ship it to avoid stupid questions like mine.
